I decided to stay around Fort Greene today and get a little feel for my temporary neighborhood. I went to the farmer's market when I got up. Yep it is right outside my door. That is fabulous. Check out my bounty.
I also decided to check out the Brooklyn Flea market that is just down the street from my place and that did not disappoint. I didn't buy much but it was nice to be out and to sit and people watch and I had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with an icy cold lemonade to wash it down. I bought a book for 5 bucks and sat on the Cement bleachers and read because I am sure it is at least 15 degrees cooler outside than in my apartment. And I decided I needed something to read while I am on the subway. It seems to be the thing to do. Tonight was mellow as I went for a much needed run around the park and as I got to the top one last time I realized I could see the Empire State building so I sat on a big cement pillar and watched the sun set on the city. It was lovely.
