Here are some images from the morning Design Premiere at Helen Mills Event Space during Fashion Week. Designers included Farai Simoyi, Sheila Frank and Kristi Vosbeck among others.  

Here are some of the other designers I had the privilege of shooting yesterday. Sadly I did not pick up a sheet so I don't have any names but I will be diligent in getting that info and crediting where credit is due.   First some Behind the Scenes. Well, more like in front of the scenes I guess. These were the models for the Viscera Show at 8pm. The hair was fantastic.

I have a friend who is a designer who asked me to video her show during fashion week. I jumped at the chance even though I am still a newbie at filming as it afforded me access that I have been unable to secure on my own. Well that and I really want to support her as she pursues her dreams. Oh yeah and it was fun. So many positive aspects to this I tell ya. I will have much more to share once I get a chance to go through all the footage but I wanted to share this little bit first as I have already sent it along to the appropriate parties. At the venue for the show, there was beautiful artwork on the walls. I had the pleasure of meeting the artist, Stanley Carr and shooting some portraits of him with his pieces. I saw this chunky pearl necklace on Erika Domesek's site, PS. I made this, and I was so inspired that I hit the flea markets first thing this morning. I scored three pearl necklaces for 10 dollars. The broach I went a little more high end on and spent $25 but I loved the art deco feel of it. With $1.59 worth of ribbon from M&J I raced home to put it all together. And Voila! The Pieces Gathered Almost there Close Up My Best Carrie B

My former assistant from Quiksilver was in town this week and she crashed at my place while she was here. It was fun to catch up and have girl time. As I was archive digging tonight I ran across this gem from one of our QS Waterman shoots. We always knew how to throw a little fun into an otherwise tedious project with our Mannies, Bryan and Chad. Oh the days.
