Market Day

We are so tired. It is getting harder and harder to get out of bed and get moving. We were waiting on some paperwork so we decided to hit the farmer's market and the flea market here in Brooklyn before heading into the city. Off we went with the main goal to get a lobster roll at the flea market. I refuse to buy anything else until I have a place to live. Thankfully there was nothing that I could not live with out but we did get some ideas for future decorating. And the lobster roll....delish. So good in fact we ate them before I could get a shot. Ooops. :)

When we got back to the apartment, we had what we needed to go meet my broker and plop down a chunk of change to attempt to get an apartment. I refuse to put any up until I actually get it but here I am in the cute new space.

We took some measurements and checked out a few more things in the apartment including the shared garden out back that my broker hadn't even know about. It is darling. Can't wait to show you. Sean seemed to think all the prelim stuff was in order so we bid adieu until Monday at 9:30 am and mom and I were off again to explore the hood and find a place to eat. I know I know all we do is walk and eat. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. :) First stop, C.O. Bigelow. Swoon. An old apothecary that has been in the same building over 170 years. The features were gorgeous. And they carried so many brands with vintage looking branding. I have found my new pharmacy.

We also stumbled upon a community garden that according to Andy Warhol has "the most perfect tree in New York"

After strolling for a bit we opted for alittle place called Good for dinner and yes it was.
A whole slew of appies made their way to our table.

It was Good indeed. We almost licked the plates.

Panama Day 5-Howard

This was the most surreal hour and a half of the whole trip. We made our way out to Howard Air Force Base (which is no longer an AFB) and found our old house. Just looking at the photos I get emotional all over again. Not that I broke down crying or anything but it was really weird standing in a place that holds so many memories.  Here is me freaking out that we found it!!! Our old Street! Coffey Avenue! Exploring the old digs!  This stairwell led up to the door in the kitchen. It was a little creepy so I just filmed from where I was.  :-/ I don't do creepy. Here we are in front of 60A Coffey Ave!    That "hill" behind my mom seemed so much bigger when we lived there. I remember my dog running down it and tripping, which led to a head over heels tumble that still makes me laugh when I think of it. And that fence used to be a favorite spot for three toed sloths to hang out.  ...

Coat Week-Day 7

Well I missed a few days even though I had these in the can. Ooops. Here is Day 7 of Coat Week and I saved the best for last. I think this is by far my most favorite coat. I love the color, I love the shape and details. I got it here in New York a few years ago from Banana. It was on sale and I have never regretted spending that money. I wear it all the time. It hasn't aged at all and neither has my love for it. What do you think? Coat-Banana Republic, Top-F21, Sweater-UO,Jeans-Uniglo, Boots-Wild Diva

Last long run

Well today was the last long run until the big marathon next week in San Francisco. Half the team is running the Long Beach Race tomorrow and my running partner is in Seattle so I decided to sleep in this morning and skip the final team run. I am kinda tired of running in Irvine and I really wanted to sleep in a little today so I made plans to run Back Bay in Newport instead. It was nice to get a good night's sleep and wake up without the alarm when it wasn't pitch dark outside. I called my friends Holly and John and they offered to ride bikes with me while I ran, and I am not one to turn down company, so I headed to their place and we took off. John was even pulling Chloe in the bike buggy. I don't know how he got up some of those hills pulling that thing. Give me running shoes any day. It was nice and overcast and the run was pretty uneventful. We all just chatted and kept it going forward. We turned around at 4 miles which just "happened" to be at the bottom of...
